Immortals have failed to qualify for the Americas Minor after being defeated by FRENCH CANADIANS in the final round of the North American closed qualifier.
The PGL Major Krakow runners-up, who had lost to SoaR in the first round of the qualifier, could not string any rounds together during the first half of the match and went into the break with a massive 11-4 deficit to overcome.
FRENCH CANADIANS further added to their lead by taking the pistol round off of a quad-kill from Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik, and they followed that up with three more rounds to reach match point.
A last-gasp effort from Immortals still earned them a round, but a triple kill from Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne in a 2v3 post-plant situation gave the Canadian side their 16th round of the match.
Meanwhile, Rise Nation picked up their third victory of the qualifier after defeating SoaR 16-13, earning their first-ever spot at a Minor.
The final North American spot was determined by a keenly-contested match between two Pro League sides, Luminosity and Misfits. With Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes racking up 29 kills, the Brazilian side picked up eight rounds in both halves to pick up a 16-12 win and assure themselves of a spot at the $50,000 event.
The team list for the Americas Minor, taking place from November 2-5 in Toronto, currently looks as follows:
